The Kanawha County Commission is looking for a Drug Court Coordinator.

The Drug Court Coordinator is responsible for administrative work, the coordination of activities and the supervision of clients at the Kanawha County Drug Court. The work involves extensive planning, organizing, coordinating and monitoring activities of the Drug Court.

REPORTS TO: Kanawha County Commission

JOB DUTIES: Plans, implements, administers and monitors day to day activities of the Drug Court. Serves on the Drug Court Team.
In conjunction with the County Chief Fiscal Officer, the Coordinator is responsible for the Drug Court Budget preparation, expenditure reports and invoices with respect to grant funds.
Write grant proposals; plans and prepares budgetary estimates and justifications in conjunction with the County Grant Coordinator.
Organizes and coordinates training for the Drug Court Team.
Maintains cooperative relationships with treatment agencies, community organizations, Day Report Center, probation department and other agencies represented on the Drug Court Team.
Frequent contact with others for the purpose of clarifying intent, explaining rationale, advising of appropriate or desired course of action, securing information and coordinating drug court services.
Develops, attends and participates in conferences, meetings and committees as the Drug Court Representative. Also is responsible for scheduling case staffings and court hearings.
Consults with Drug Court Judge(s) on a wide range of organizational and managerial issues including but not limited to Drug Court efficiency and internal and external quality assurance.
Monitors and supervises Drug Court program processes and operations while being responsible for program efficiency.
Facilitates community presentations, coordinates community service, promotes team integrity, develops community resources, monitors quality assurance, develops agendas, collects data and works closely with the Drug Court Team, program evaluator, Drug Court Judge and Kanawha County Commission.
Serves as liaison between Drug Court Team members and treatment providers.
Responsible for client supervision.
Responsible for ensuring processes used in the Drug Court comply with established program goals.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Public or Court Administration, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Public Health or Health Administration or related field from an accredited university.
Experience in probation, addiction counseling, and/or business or program operations preferred.
Comparable Education and Experience will be considered.

This is a grant-funded position.
